How amazing would it be to get to work for the most magical place in the world and get to travel? That is exactly what you get to do when you perform on a Disney Cruise Line. Disney is gearing up to hold auditions for Disney Wonder. The Disney Cruise Line is teaming up with award-winning New York City Director Sheryl Kaller (Mothers and Sons, Next Fall) and New York City Choreographer Joshua Prince (Beautiful, Shrek) for its newest on-board production.
They will be hiring a repertory company of 19 performers to portray roles in each of their musical theatre style productions. Rehearsal begins in Toronto, Canada in late summer 2016 with on-board performance contract ending in late spring 2017. Contracts include competitive pay plus bonus, room and board, guest sailing privileges, and additional benefits package. Disney is looking for male dancers who are 5’8 and above. Dancers must be trained in ballet, tap and jazz. Tumbling a plus. Some dancers may be asked to sing, please be prepared. They are seeking someone to play Tarzan – Male dancer, tap and jazz a plus, 5’9” – 6’0”, lean & muscular build, good dancer, great smile, no fear of heights, performer will be trained on Spanish Web. To be considered, all candidates must attend the auditions. They are also looking for female dancers. Disney is looking for versatile and exciting female dancers 5’4″ and above. Dancers must be trained in ballet and jazz, partnering skills a plus. Some dancers may be asked to sing, please be prepared.
The auditions will be held on Monday, March 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Pearl Studios at 500 8th Avenue – 12th Floor New York, NY 10018 Sign-in begins 1 hour prior to audition. To be considered performers must be at least 18 years of age.Please provide a current headshot and resume.Be warmed up and ready to begin at time listed. Wear form fitting attire to show your silhouette, and proper dance shoes. All dancers will learn a ballet combination. Selected dancers will move on to advanced jazz.
