The upcoming Julianne Morre movie “Wonderstruck” is now looking for kids! The movie is about a young boy in the Midwest and a young girl in New York simultaneously and how their lives intersect fifty years later. The movie is based on a children’s book. According to Variety, “Wonderstruck” traces the gradually weaving stories, though set 50 years apart, of two deaf children who both wish their lives had been different: Rose dreams of a mysterious actress, Ben of the father he has never known. Their stories will finally intertwine as both children set out on quests to find what they are missing: A family.
Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking kids between the ages of 9 and 13 years old for the film. They are looking for Caucasian boys with shaggy, longish hair (must come over ears), African American boys with afros (small or large afros), Caucasian Girls with any length hair but not super long. A little past the shoulders is ok and African American Girls with afros, natural hair, straight hair is ok too. Braids might be ok. The children will be portraying 1970s kids in the Todd Haynes movie that is starring Julianne Moore & Michelle Williams.
There are several work dates on the film. They are Saturday 5/28 (Non-Union), Friday 6/10 (SAG-AFTRA/NONUNION), Saturday 6/11(SAG-AFTRA/NONUNION), Sunday 6/12 (SAG-AFTRA/NONUNION), Thursday 6/16 (SAG-AFTRA/NONUNION), Saturday 6/18 (SAG-AFTRA/NONUNION), Sunday 6/19 (SAG-AFTRA/NONUNION) and Saturday 6/25 (SAG-AFTRA/NONUNION). Fittings/ Haircuts are 1-2 weeks before shooting. Fittings are in Lower Manhattan (Wall Street Area).
